About Mary Williams, MS

My goal is to support your journey.

A challenging journey is all the more difficult when we feel alone, burdened, or stuck in a war with ourselves. As a counselor, I aim to walk along with you as we untangle what might be stopping you and empower you toward an enjoyable and fulfilling life.

A history of serving others

I have always been drawn to work focused on helping others. Beginning my career as a counselor in a domestic violence shelter overseas, I began to build my skillset.

I grew to appreciate the comfortable and uncomfortable elements of living and working in a culture that wasn’t my own. Developing a natural aptitude for supporting my clients through genuine listening, nonjudgment, and creativity, I’ve learned to help people unravel the often complex trauma they have experienced.

Relying on evidence-based counseling techniques productively and effectively, I will work to empower you. You will be able to find new patterns and the real “you” who was there all along.

My years of experience working and securing my graduate degree overseas have taught me to be flexible and creative in the counseling process. Creating a marriage and family that also stretch across cultures has allowed me to be open and empathetic with a wide variety of people. Now, as my family relocates to Alaska, I look forward to continuing to learn and grow – and generally be kept on my toes!

Let’s find your voice

Let’s work together to give your voice, experience, and emotions the attention they have needed for so long. Together, we will build an inner world that makes sense, skills and tools to deal successfully with an outer world that often doesn’t, and best of all, find acceptance and healing.
